13c Blue "Hawaiian Postage" is to be sold for $25,000 by Cherrystone

Cherrystone is to hold its next great auction on September 17-18 sale that is to take place at New York City galleries. There are 1,522 lots of rare stamps and postal history of the World, featuring properties of numerous vendors and estates sold by their order. The auction will offer a great selection of United States, including the Unique Double Franking Brattleboro Provisional, followed by Austria, Belgium, specialized Carpatho-Ukraine and Baltic Countries, Asia, France and Colonies, Germany and Colonies, Italian Area, specialized Liechtenstein, Spain, South America and Scandinavian countries.

One of the brightest lots that will be presented during this sale is 1851 13c Blue "Hawaiian Postage" that is the first postage stamps of the Kingdom of Hawaii. They came to be known as the "Missionaries" because they were primarily found on the correspondence of missionaries working in the Hawaiian Islands. There are seven unused examples of the 13c "Hawaiian Postage" Missionary recorded, including four that have repairs. The lot offered by Cherrystone features margins all around, rich color, faint traces of a cancelation, repaired at left and at upper right, very fine appearance. This is one of the few examples of the 1851 13 Cent Hawaiian Missionary with unused appearance, with 2018 PFC. Considered as the most attractive example of Hawaiian Missionary, this bright lot is being offered with the starting price of $25,000.
