Definitive postage stamps: Croatian undersea world

A popular theory says that we know far better the universe then the depths of the world seas. In order to present the inhabitants of the depths of the Adriatic Sea, Croatian Post put into circulation four definitive postage stamps with the motifs of Croatian undersea world on April, 9th.

According to the info got by FindYourStampsValue.com, Croatian Post has prepared these definitive postage stamps with the tourist season in mind.  Apart from the sea motifs, also the nominal value of stamps (5.80 HRK) is accommodated to the price of sending priority postcard abroad. In the sheetlet with the four stamps there are also four Priority/Airmail stickers, which the users can fix on their postcards and Croatian Post will take care to safely and fast deliver their memories and greetings to their family and friends throughout the world.

The author of photographs on stamps of the series Croatian Undersea World is Dalibor Andres, a photographer from Sisak and the author of the stamp is Alenka Lalić, designer from Zagreb. The quantity of this self-adhesive stamps is 125 000 stamps per motif and they have been printed in a 4 stamp sheetlet. Croatian Post has issued also a First Day Cover (FDC), while the First Day Cancellation was issued on 9 and 10 April in Post Office 10101 Zagreb, Jurišićeva 13.

Already for many years in sequence Croatian Post has been introducing the public in the world with our plants and animals, primarily on its series of postage stamps Croatian Flora and Croatian Fauna, but also in many other of its issues.
