New postage stamps for World Design Helsinki 2012

The hugely popular Finnish Future City design competition has been decided, and eight proposals have been selected from the 1,422 entries submitted for the competition to be published as World Design Helsinki 2012 postage stamps in January next year. In the competition organized on the Internet, the public voted for their favourites with a total of 15,038 votes. The winning stamps were chosen based on the public vote and jury evaluation.

The winners of the competition include professionals and amateurs of graphic design and two children. The winning works of the competition were Future City by Chloe Chapeaublanc, a graphic designer from Helsinki, Onnela (Happy Town) by Sini Henttonen, a university student in textile art from Helsinki, Citykani (City Rabbit) by Katja Hynninen, a textile designer from Tampere, Kaupungin liike (Movement of the City) by Daniel Kallstr
