Portugal Post issued four stamps on Harry Potter!

In the years since, the seven Harry Potter bestsellers have inspired eight blockbuster movies, an award-winning stage play, and, more recently, the start of the Fantastic Beasts ve- lm series. People of all ages have been enthralled by these extraordinary adventures, set within an expanding universe, inspired by the vision of J.K. Rowling.

Portugal Post issued a set of four stamps featuring the young wizard and his inseparable friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The issue also shows the main antagonist - evil Lord Voldemort. Harry Potter stamps are quiet popular among collectors, and Postal Services regularly present philatelic issues on this theme.

Harry James Potter was an English half-blood wizard, one of the most famous wizards of modern times. He was the only child and son of James and Lily Potter (née Evans), both members of the original Order of the Phoenix. When Harry was one year old, his parents were killed by a dark wizard named Lord Voldemort, leaving him with a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt. Voldemort had heard a prophecy that his greatest enemy would be a child that had the same exact description as Harry. When Harry turned eleven, he received a letter inviting him to go to a school called Hogwarts for young witches and wizards. Each book tells the story of one year of his life at the school. On the Hogwarts Express, the train they use to get to Hogwarts, he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his two best friends, along with many other characters. Voldemort tries several times to return, before finally succeeding in the fourth book. The series ends with Harry defeating Voldemort.
