Stamp Prices To Stay Same Next Year

The price of first-class stamps will not increase next year, the U.S. Postal Service has announced. The Postal Service has raised rates every year for the last few years.

The price to mail catalogs and magazines will also stay the same. Increases are announced at the start of the year and put into effect in May. This year, the first-class rate jumped from 42 to 44 cents.

An announcement is expected next month on whether there will be price changes for competitive products, such as priority and express mail.

The post office has struggled with losses as more and more letters and bill payments move online.

First-class mail rates cover cards and letters sent by individuals or bills sent by companies.
