University Hospital “Sveti Duh” is the the oldest hospital in the Republic of Croatia. It has developed from a hospital of local and national significance into an internationally renowned and recognised modern medical institution. To celebrate 215 years since its establishment, Croatia Post released a special stamp that was designed by Alenka Lalić.
Sveti Duh is one of the most important health care institutions in Croatia. It was founded in 1804 and it’s been open ever since, having a long-standing tradition. “Sveti Duh” has been the first to apply new discoveries and modern technologies with the primary purpose of helping people. There are a wide variety of specialties available at the hospital although it does not offer paediatric care. Sveti Duh is fully equipped to a relatively high standard and treats approximately 25,000 inpatients and 250,000 outpatients annually. There is also a 24 hour emergency department at the hospital.
