Grace Kelly movies – two stamps issued by Monaco Post

Monaco Post introduced two stamps to honor one of the greatest American film actresses. She became Princess of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier III in April 1956. Nowadays this outstanding actress is listed 13th among the American Film Institute's 25 Greatest Female Stars of Classical Hollywood Cinema. The stamps are devoted to such movies with Grace Kelly as “Fourteen Hours” and “The Wedding in Monaco”.

The theme of the first stamp is “Fourteen Hours” movie. It was released in 1951 and directed by Henry Hathaway. The film is a psychological thriller features stellar performances by young actors including Grace Kelly in her first film role. The second stamp is devoted to “The Wedding in Monaco” movie that is a 1956 documentary film covering the celebrations in Monaco leading up to the wedding of Prince Rainier III to Grace Kelly. The 31-minute color CinemaScope film was directed by Jean Masson and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Kelly’s film studio before her retirement from acting.
