Stamp commemorates Braille pioneer
An Post has issued a new 55-cent stamp to commemorate the bicentenary of the birth in 1809 of Louis Braille, the inventor of the reading and writing system used by the blind and visually impaired. The stamp features an eye in black ink on a white background with the 55-cent denomination in Braille. On 5 December, 2008, An Post issued a new self-adhesive stamp from the Sixth Definitive series, entitled 'Wild Flowers of Ireland'. The stamp features the Yellow horned-poppy, which is typically found in coastal environments. It occurs on sandy headlands and shingle beaches.
Spain And Ireland Celebrate Dancing On New Stamps
