
Isle of Man Post introduced six new stamps that depicts scenes and artworks inspired by the story of the Nativity. The issue features the use of gold around the border of each stamp. This color is often associated with the festive season and complements the six traditional artworks included within this set.
This issue of six stamps features beautifully presented artworks depicting the religious story of the nativity. They showcase such pieces of art as An Angel Playing a Flageolet - Edward Burne-Jones (1833-1898), The Annunciation to the Shepherds - The Classic Bible Art Collection, Nativity - Edward Burne-Jones (1833-1898), The Adoration of the Shepherds - Guido Reni (1575–1642), The Nativity – Artist Unknown, St Nicholas Church, Blakeney, England, O Little Town Bethlehem – The Lifeway Collection.
Maxine Cannon, General Manager Isle of Man Stamps & Coins, said: “Christmas stamps help deliver festive messages of good cheer and celebration across the Island, the UK and around the world. This year’s stamps feature scenes from the Nativity. They are intended to remind us of blessings received throughout this difficult year and to give us a bit of tradition during these uncertain times.”
