Ainaži lighthouse has appeared on Latvian stamp

According to info got by Latvia Post released the next stamp from the series "Lighthouses". This item depicts famous Ainaži lighthouse. The issue was released and put into circulation on the 12th of September.

Ainaži  is a harbour town in the Vidzeme region of Latvia. The town is located near the Estonian border on the site of an ancient Liv fishing village. In 1930 the Ainaži lighthouse was built.

On the map used as background image of the stamp shows the Gulf of Riga with Estonian coastline and western Estonian islands. In addition to the lighthouse the stamp also has part of seamen's memorial also located in Ainaži.
