Azerbaijan’s stamp issue celebrates the inaugural European Games event

According to info got by Azerbaijan Post has introduced a series of stamps to celebrate their inaugural European Games event. The issue was reveled on the 20th of November and is now available for purchasing.

The illustrations on the stamps feature six of the Baku 2015 venues. The unique and colorful stamps include such venues as the National Stadium, where the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take place, along with the Athletics for next year.

Tofiq Bahramov Stadium, Heydar Aliyev Arena, Crystal Hall, Baku Aquatics Center, and the National Gymnastics Arena are also featured on the stamps.

"These beautiful stamps showcase just some of the world-class venues that will host elite sport in Baku next summer", stated Mr. Iltimas Mammadov, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Communication and High Technologies.

He went on to add, "They will become popular all over Azerbaijan as memories of the spectacular summer of sport that will unite Europe in celebration".
Each of the stamps holds a value of 60 qepik. There will be a second edition, which will illustrate all 20 sports to take place in Baku 2015, that will be released sometime next year. Also, to be released at a future date, is a third commemorative book featuring all 26 stamps.
