Caritas Monaco – a main church institution in the country is glad to inform that Monaco Post is to release a special stamp to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Caritas Monaco ‒ a Church institution that coordinates and carries out its social action in the Principality of Monaco. The item has been already designed and is to be put into circulation on the 23d of March.

Caritas Monaco is a Church institution, a full member of Caritas Europa and Caritas Internationalis, which has its headquarters at the Vatican. It was founded in 1990 by Msgr Joseph Marie Sardou who was then Archbishop of Monaco.

Caritas fights poverty and social inequality through a range of social programmes. In addition to financial support, Caritas also offers educational services and provides assistance to the most vulnerable. From its foundation until September 2007 it was directed by Canon Philippe Blanc, priest of the Cathedral of Monaco, and since then by Deacon Robert Ferrua.
