Contemporary Art in Russia stamps

Russian Post issued three stamps within the series "Contemporary Russian Art". The stamps are dedicated to the three modern Russian artists and depict their paintings: D. Belyukin "Indian Summer. Early Morning" (2003), A. Lyubavin "Girl and the City" (2005), V. Polotnov "On the Trubezh River" (2008).

D. Belyukin - People's Artist of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Moscow Union of Artists. He paints in the tradition of Russian classical school of painting, and actively exhibits his masterpieces. He was awarded by St Andrew the First-Called award "For Faith and Loyalty" (2009) and the National Prize "Person of the Year - 2009".

A. Lubavin - honored Artist of Russia, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (from 1983), winner of the Lenin Komsomol Moscow award (1984), lecturer in drawing and painting in Kosygin University, member of regional, zonal, republic and all-Russian exhibitions. This artist's works can be found in major museums of Russia. He was awarded the Prize of the Komsomol Central Committee and the USSR Union, Gold Medal of the Academy of Arts of Russia (2003).

V. Polotnov - People's Artist of Russia, Honored Artist of Russia, secretary of the Union of Artists of Russia, member of the Board of the Moscow Association of painters, member of the creative association "Romantics of the realism." He was awarded the diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts, the award of the Union of Russian Artists of Savrasov, the silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. The works by Polotnov are held in the collections of the Directorate exhibitions of the Union of Artists of Russia, in the Ministry of Culture of Russia, in museums of Belgorod, Kirov, Vologda, Mogilev, Volochek, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
