Famous Women on Stamps – special philately exhibition in Bengaluru
FindYourStampsValue.com got to know that India Post launched a philately exhibition to commemorate Women's Day at the Rangoli Metro Art Centre on the 7th of March. Visitor looked at a great amount of stamps of women achievers.
The exhibition is on till March 10 and showcases postal stamps of women achievers including warrior queens, freedom fighters, social reformists, women leaders, saints, astronauts, legendary singers and actors. Indian women achievers immortalized not just in Indian stamps but in foreign stamps too is a special attraction at the exhibition.
A visitor at the exhibition, 10-year-old Sneha who is fond of stamps, said that she learnt a lot through the stamps here and that many achievers are part of lessons in her text books too.
Nobel Peace laureate Mother Teresa and Princess Diana were the two women canonized in a maximum number of stamps by India and countries across the world. The Republic of Guinea has released a stamp of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for her achievements. The exhibition also showcased a 22 karat gold replica of American actress and model Marilyn Monroe, which was released in June 1995.
