Great bridges from Humppila and Suomussalmi. Two beautiful Europa 2018 stamps released by Finland Post is excited to present to your attention this beautiful set of two Europa 2018 stamps by Finland Post that depicts Finnish nature with a special focus on bridge landscapes. Designed by Klaus Welp, these two stamps depict a wooden bridge in the middle of an agricultural landscape in Humppila and a wilderness bridge in Suomussalmi.

Hannu Laatunen, who took the photograph of the wooden bridge, had driven by the place often, waiting for the right kind of light. Juha Härkönen photographed the wilderness bridge at a lake called Seitenahveninen at sunset.

"These sympathetic and unique bridges that represent our national landscapes will definitely stand out from among the grand bridges of European metropolises," says Tommi Kantola, Design Manager at Posti.

We would also like to remind you that in 2017 the Finnish Snowcastle stamp was selected as the best stamp in the Europa series. This year many Postal Services have already released stamps with bridges and we encourage everyone to select their favorite stamp sheet by vote.
