Honoring Prominent Armenians on stamps. 100th anniversary of Babken Nersisian marked by HayPost!

Designed by Vahagn Mkrtchyan the stamp features oil painting of Babken Nersisian who is widely known for such film pictures as  “Hyusisayin tziatzan” (1960), “Msyo Zhake yev urishner” (1966) and “Qaos” (1974). 

Babken Nersisyan was born on July 18, 1917 in Tiflis. He is an Armenian Soviet theater and film actor, master of the artistic word (reader), playwright. The actor received People's Artist of the Armenian SSR that is an honorary title awarded to citizens of the Armenian SSR in the Soviet Union.  Babken Nersisyan performed comic, dramatic and tragic roles in the plays of G.M. Sundukyan, A. N. Ostrovsky, W. Shakespeare, and others. According to experts, he created sharp and expressive images, marked by emotionality, graphic clarity of the stage design. His talent won recognition of the audience and the cultural community worldwide.
