About the design
The bright and informal photograph used on the stamp was taken by the Duchess' father, Michael Middleton in the garden of the Middleton family home. The photo features Prince George and his parents in a happy, sunny scene. Stamp designer Isabelle Toussaint added a pale blue "baby blanket" texture to the photo, along with the Prince's full name, royal title and date of birth.
HRH Prince George of Cambridge was born on July 22, 2013, at approximately 4 p.m. London time. The photo on the stamp shows the royal infant at one month old, making him the youngest member of the Royal Family to appear on a Canadian stamp.Canada celebrated the royal infant's birth by illuminating the Peace Tower, the Horseshoe Falls in Niagara Falls and the CN Tower in Toronto in baby blue lights.
