International Stamp Auction in Copenhagen

October 14th, 2015

Bruun Rasmussen conducts this autumn's international stamp auction in Copenhagen on Tuesday 27 October.

This time we are offering the second part of J. Schmidt-Andersen's amazing collection of Denmark's first postage stamp "4 Rigsbankskilling 1851-1854".

The catalogue’s section of selected Danish single objects also contains several philatelic rarities - including Christian X 70 øre 1918 with thick ciffers, a very beautiful and well-preserved copy of the rare "General Motors" booklet, not to mention the 4/8 øre with inverted frame, which we have up for sale for the third time in a row.

1930. GENERAL MOTORS. 7,50 Kr. Booklet in very fine quality. Rare. AFA: - . Certificate Nielsen. Estimate: DKK 40,000.

The catalogue also contains a variety of intact collections, for instance a fine section with Norwegian collections, one of which contains no less than 1,200 skilling stamps. This time we begin the parcelling out of probably the largest collection of Icelandic postcards that to date has been collected.

Furthermore, we would like to draw attention to a very interesting section of Icelandic postage stamps used for fiscal purposes, incl. several unique covers and documents. The section with German collections should also be mentioned, where several collections of the states in a truly unique quality deserves to be highlighted.
