Lebanese fashion designer of Celine Dion dress honored by LibanPost. A special stamp issued on Elie Saab
FindYourStampsValue.com hurries to let our readers know that Lebanon Post has released a special stamp to honor a world-famous Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab. The stamp was unveiled at Beit Beirut, a museum and urban cultural centre, the walls of which were donned with massive photographs of Saab-designed dresses worn by celebreties. Among these figures was Canadian singer and pop music icon Celine Dion wearing a “blush strapless gown with subtle draping” from the Elie Saab Spring-Summer 2011 Haute Couture collection.
Elie Saab is best known for his stylish wedding gowns and haute couture dresses designed to flatter and enhance the feminine silhouette. A favored designer among many of the world’s most high-profile women, Saab’s clothes mix a Western sensibility with a Middle Eastern flair.
“I was born with this passion of creating and making dresses and was always surrounded by beautiful women, from my sisters to neighbours,” he said, “so the desire to dress them and make them look elegant was my constant inspiration.”
The Lebanese designer started making dresses when he was 9, opened his first atelier at 17, in the midst of civil war, and from there went on to dress the world's most prominent women. Nowadays, he is 53 years old, he runs an international, multi-million dollar firm. Very often Elie Saab is called as a king of the red carpet.
