It may be hard to believe, but 2018 will mark the 50th anniversary of Stanley Kubrick‘s masterpiece: 2001: A Space Odyssey. Ever since its release in 1968, this adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s story has been widely called one of the greatest films of all time. This British-made film was presented to the audience one year before the moon landing. People were amazed by the effects used and the sheer vision of writer Arthur C. Clarke and filmmaker Stanley Kubrick. This film is probably the best science-fiction film of all time about exploration of the unknown. It was released, coincidentally, at the height of the space race between the USSR and the US.

In true Kubrickesque style, each of the '2001' stamps issued by the Isle of Man Post Office contains a message, a secret code hidden to the naked eye – there for you to find.
