Post of Ecuador presented new postage stamp
On Thursday April 24 the Public Company Factory Imbabura and Posts of Ecuador CDE EP launched a new stamp called "Factory Imbabura, Industrial Cultural Heritage of Ecuador". Through this post issue the textile workers were commemorated.
Correos del Ecuador is particularly interested in issuing postal material that highlights the natural, historical and cultural wealth of the country and this theme of industrial heritage is an innovation of great importance, since it shows that Ecuador cares, preserves and restores customs and history.
This factory was mainly involved in production of cotton yarns and fabrics. In the peak years of production the factory provided working places for more than a thousand men and women of the county and province, as well as European technicians. Textile production supplied domestic and international markets, generating direct and indirect employment and consequently, invigorating the local and regional economy.
This postal issue consists of two stamps, with a face value of U.S. 1.00 each. 75,000 were printed label, the same that were printed by the Military Geographic Institute. Stamps can be purchased at all the agencies and branches of Ecuador Post nationwide.
