Post of Mexico marks Teacher's Day with a postal stamp
The Mexican Postal Service issued a commemorative stamp on the occasion of Teacher's Day, which was canceled by President Enrique Peña Nieto at a ceremony held at the official residence of Los Pinos.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary of Public Education, Emilio Chuayffet; the general director of the Mexican Postal Service and teachers awarded the medal of Ignacio Manuel Altamirano.
They were also present at the meeting in the Hall Adolfo Lopez Mateos on the occasion of Teacher's Day teachers and teachers from all states as well as officials from various branches of the education sector.
The stamp features the image of the teacher and poet Laura Méndez de Cuenca, who promoted women's rights and promoted the development of Mexico through educational innovation.
