Rare animal specimens depicted on a new Singaporean stamp issue
FindYourStampsValue.com got to know that a series of stamps featuring animal specimens was issued by Singapore Post on the 18th of April. The new stamp issue depicts the following specimens from the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum: The sauropod dinosaur, the Giant Hawker dragonfly, the Black and Yellow Broadbill and the Leathery Turtle.
The Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum has been a long and rocky road for the museum, which can trace its roots back to 1823, when Sir Stamford Raffles founded the Singapore Institution. The Raffles Natural History Collection now has a permanent home in the spanking new $46 million building designed by Singapore architect Mok Wei Wei.
The Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum at the National University of Singapore will open to public on Apr 28.
