Stamp collecting is a hobby for all generations! Young people are encouraged to join the philatelic community
Stamp collecting is fun. It is a hobby that both young and old can do and enjoy. The stamp hobby can be enjoyed on any budget – or no budget at all. Collecting stamps keeps your mind active and inquisitive, increases your knowledge of places and events, relieves the stress of the day, and offers social opportunities.
FindYourStampsValue.com is glad to announce that the Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History at Regis College in Weston(Massachusetts, USA) decided to encourage young people to begin the lifelong hobby of stamp collecting by giving free admission to all youngsters throughout October.
This offer is part of the museum's celebration of National Stamp Collecting Month. Free packets of stamps, plus various stamp collecting materials and an instruction booklet, await all future collectors. In addition, stamp games and hunts in the museum's galleries will help introduce all visitors to the wide world of stamps.
Current exhibits include selections from members' collections, comics on stamps, mail carried by Zepellins, a history of rural free delivery, a celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, and even a dress made out of a stamp.
In addition, a free booklet featuring famous Hispanic Americans on U.S. stamps will be available.
The museum also offers (for a small fee) evaluations of personal stamp collections by appointment.
Coming in November is an exhibit on the history of the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School, a free comic book evaluation night etc.
