Stamps honoring famous writers of Armenia

According to info got by in 2014 on September 5th, 2 stamps dedicated to the themes "125th anniversary of Stepan Zoryan" and "100th anniversary of Hamo Sahyan" have been put into circulation by Armenian Post. These writers made a great

Stephan Zoryan is was a Soviet Armenian writer. Zoryan's works are dedicated to the life of Armenian village, its social problems and sovietisation.

After the October Revolution he published a number of novel collections. One of his most notable works is "King Pap" (Pap tagavor) historical novel, published many times and entered to the Armenian school's teaching program.

Hamo Sahyan was an Armenian poet and translator. He finished the Baku Pedagogical institute in 1939. In 1941 he returned to Yerevan, then served in the Soviet Navy during World War II. He worked in "Avangard" and "Vozni" newspapers, edited "Grakan tert".

The first collection of his poems was published in 1946. Sahyan was awarded by the State Prize of Armenia for his "Sezam, batsvir" (1972) book.
