United Nations Day celebrated by UNPA. Special Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) stamps released
FindYourStampsValue.com is glad to let our readers know that UNPA is celebrating this year’s United Nations Day with the issuance of the ground-breaking UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) stamps and booklets.
The United Nations Day marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter in 1945, and 24 October has been celebrated as United Nations Day ever since.
The creation of the United Nations brought the peoples and nations of the world together to promote peace, human rights and social and economic development. In this spirit of solidarity, the world leaders adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to succeed the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) at the historic 2015 UN Summit. Over the next fifteen years, with these new Goals that universally apply to all, countries will mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.
There are two versions of the Sustainable Development Goals booklets to accompany the stamp series. The beautifully designed booklets contain 40 pages of text and images highlighting the 17 goals associated with the agenda for transforming our world. The trilingual version with English, French and German texts contains the SDG stamp sheet denominated in the currency of the issuing office – US$ for UNPA New York, CHF for UNPA Geneva and Euro for UNPA Vienna. The bilingual version with English and Chinese texts contains the US dollar denominated SDG stamp sheet.
Please note that the SDG stamp sheet design is identical for New York, Geneva and Vienna offices, the only difference being in denomination and face value.
