Winners of the WIPA Grand Prix 2013

Stamps from 70 countries issued in 2012 competed in the WIPA international stamp competition in Vienna this year. The WIPA (Wiener Internationale Postwertzeichen Ausstellung) Grand Prix was first organized at the international philatelic exhibition in Vienna in 1981 and has been held annually since then.

The Swiss stamp "Braunes Langohr" won first place with 91 points and the Hong Kong entry "Year of the dragon"came second with 82 points.  The Hungarian stamp achieved a score of 79. The Hungarian block "100 Jahre Titanic" was singled out by the jury for its special printing technique.

5. Czech Republic – "800 years of the Golden Bull of Sicily by King Frederick II";

6. Ukraine – "Generous Ukraine. Summer";

7. Israel – "Wildlife Conservation";

8. Liechtenstein – "Brazier 1908";

9. Macao – "Legends & Myths – The Cowhead and the Weaving Maid";

10. Serbia – "Science".
