Four migrating birds on Finnish stamps bring spring!

Four migrating birds on Finnish stamps bring spring!

Finland Post issued a set of four great stamps illustrating migratory birds, the arrival of which is a sure sign of spring. Kevätlorulinnut stamps designed by Oona Himanen were inspired by illustrations on the old lorusta, which predicts the arrival of migratory birds in spring and progression. These great spring stamps convey the joyful and cheerful nostalgia.

Spring migration, one of nature's greatest annual journeys, is underway as billions of migratory birds leave their wintering grounds and head north toward seasonal food sources and favorite nesting spots.

Himanen wanted to keep the stamps and stamp sheet reduced. - Luru, finch, wagtail and swallow, all familiar to Lorus, play a major role in the illustrations, and the advancement of spring is revealed through the color scheme.

The lore itself, "Moon from tear to summer, half of finch, little wagtail, not even a day of swallow", is printed on the back of the stamp sheet.
