
HayPost released a special souvenir sheet of one stamp honoring Napoleon Bonaparte - a French military general, the first emperor of France and one of the world's greatest military leaders. The stamp on the souvenir sheet features Napoleon in full growth, while the rest of philatelic item presents Napoleon’s abdication letter, one of the original copies of which is preserved at Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Arts in Yerevan.
Napoleon Bonaparte crowned himself the first emperor of France. He revolutionized military organization and training, sponsored the Napoleonic Code, reorganized education and established the long-lived Concordat with the papacy. He rose to prominence during the French Revolution (1787–99) and served as emperor of France from 1804 to 1814, and again in 1815. Napoleon had a unique personality, talent, and deeds. For generations, historians have carried out countless historical studies on his life and empire.
