
Liechtenstein Post issued a special stamp celebrating the upcoming Year of the Rat. 2020 is a year of the Rat, starting from January 25th, 2020 and lasting until February 11th, 2021. It will be a Gold Rat year. The Year of the Rat is the first zodiac sign in the Chinese zodiac cycle. The stamp designed in black and red colours was created by Stefan Erne.
According to the Chinese horoscope, people born in the Year of the Rat have a quick mind, are curious and search high and low for lucrative opportunities. The mysterious and clever animal seems to be able to solve all of life’s problems. Its character is reinforced by the element of the year – metal. “Year of the Rat” stamp is in the form of a filigree silhouette cut using the latest laser technology. The sheet of four stamps in red, a symbol of happiness in China, is also punched out in the shape of a rodent. All imprints were applied in elegant gold foil embossing.
