Turkey stamps: 2013 UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and Turkish World Culture Center – Eskisehir

Turkish post issued a block of stamps commemorating the 10th year celebrations of UNESCO's 2003 convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage. Turkey's celebration program was evaluated according to which Eskisehir was chosen as the 2013 Capital of ICH which defines intangible cultural heritage as traditions or living expressions such as oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, knowledge and practices also the knowledge and skills to produce traditional crafts.

Center Of Turkish World Along with being the 2013 Capital of ICH, Eskisehir was also chosen as the culture capital of the Turkish world for the same year.

Within this framework, Eskisehir will be the center of scientific, cultural and art activities hosting a number of shows and exhibitions where a large participation is also expected from the member countries of TURKSOY, an international organization promoting cultural and artistic cooperation among Turkish speaking countries.
