100 Years of the First Airmail Flight celebrated on new Belgian stamps

Bpost issued a sheet with two stamps commemorating the 100th anniversary of the first airmail flight realized in Belgium. On May 1, 1913, during the exhibition in Ghent, a young man of 19 years old made a flight on his monoplane Deperdussin from the nearby airfield of Sint-Denijs-Westrem to Berchem-Sainte-Agathe. Besides the pilot, Henri Crombez, some Postal mailbags were on board.

Jean Libert and Guillaume Broox reproduced this historic event in the format of postage stamps.
