The Japan Post is issuing five stamps dedicated to the region of Aichi and its local peculiarities. The set commemorates the 60th anniversary of the local government law.

The stamps are issued in association with the commemorative coins, which will be sequentially released from each of the 47 prefectures.

The stamps were designed by Maruyama Satoru. They feature:

- Kinshachi, Iris laevigata and Atsumi Peninsula
- Otus scops
- Ginkgo biloba L.
- Seto-yaki
- Cerasus x subhirtella "Semperflorens"

Kinshachi are two golden tiger-headed dolphins of the topmost castle roof of Nagoya Castle, restored Japanese castle located in Nagoya. Kinshachi were used as a talisman to prevent fires.

The Scops Owls, also known as the Eurasian Scops Owls, are small owls living on the territory of Aichi region.
