Animal Tracks - Stories in the Sand

More than mere impressions in the soil of a hoof or paw, animal tracks tell an intricate story about their makers. The art of reading animal tracks are becoming extinct as people move away from their traditional ways towards a western way of life. To create awareness of today's need for skilled trackers in eco tourism, the South African Post Office issued a set of stamps and two commemorative covers, showing animal tracks as well as the animals that make them. It was issued on 15 September 2006.
