
Since 1968, the cornflower has been the national flower of Estonia. They bloom in cheerful blues and purples and are easy to grow. And this year the Postal Service decided to honor this flower with a bright stamp. This beautiful issue that symbolizes the beginning of spring features a close-up image of a flower showing it in all its glory.
Idolizing by many people for years, cornflower is now popular in multiple counties, but only one country made it its National Flower. This is a light-loving plant that can also endure shade. Flowers are primarily blue, but can also be violet-blue, in rare cases violet-red, purplish-pink, or even white. This plant is a well-liked by honeybees and also a known medicinal herb. It is used in medicine to make eye compresses, to remedy cough and fever. The plant is rich in vitamin C.
