Denmark's Royal Life Guards

Denmark's Royal Life Guards

Founded in 1658, the Royal Life Guards celebrate their 350th anniversary in 2008. Throughout their existence, the Guards have performed two main duties: guarding royal palaces and castles, and providing troops for the Danish army. All of the Guards' duties are performed with pride and honour under the motto "Pro Rege et Grege" ("For King and People").

Post Danmark is marking their anniversary with two stamps, featuring Guards in red gala uniforms (DKK 5.50) and Guards in combat gear (DKK 10.00).

Date of issue: 27 March 2008
