Fairy Amalka is a popular Czech cartoon personage that became an inseparable part of everyone's childhood. She is symbol of happiness and good mood and that is how she was depicted on a new bright stamp by Czech Post – joyfully and optimistically.

The Stories of Fairy Amálka is a 1975 Czechoslovak series of cartoons broadcast as bedtime stories. The screenplay was written by Václav Čtvrtek. The cartoons were drawn and directed by Václav Bedřich. The fairy tales were narrated by Jiří Hrzán.

A total of 13 episodes were recorded, of about 8 minutes each. In 2013 the series Fairy Amalka experienced popular success in Japan, with the episodes dubbed into Japanese, and a toy range around the characters created.
