Germany: 75 years of Stamp Day

The German Post has issued a stamp celebrating the "Stamp Day". This day was invented by the Federation of German Philatelic Association. The Association unites collectors, associations and clubs who had always aimed to advertise this special day with a variety of philatelic exhibitions, special shows and stamp exchange.

The Stamp Day is celebrated in Germany for 75 years. This idea came from the Berlin philatelist Hans von Rudolphi. This day serves to recognize the importance of stamps, philately, stamp collecting and philatelic clubs.

Since the decision of the International Philatelic Federation (FIP) in Luxembourg (1936) Stamp Days are celebrated in over 120 countries.
