Greenland Post issued two Christmas stamps with special lighting effects!

Greenland Christmas 2019 stamps were scented with pine and Christmas biscuits. This year the Post adorned its two Christmas stamps with special lighting effects so, when you hold this year’s Greenlandic Christmas stamps in your hands, you will clearly be able to see the orange Christmas star sparkle and the green northern lights flaring over the town. A real Greenlandic Christmas – in a new way.

Christmas in Greenland always starts with a beloved tradition: in every home in the entire country, they light an orange Christmas star that shines beautifully from the windows. In the towns, the candles are lit on the Christmas trees on the first Sunday of Advent, which gives rise to extra cosiness for most of the families with the making of Christmas decorations, food and Christmas sweets. In most towns a Christmas tree is erected. Then people gather together when the Christmas tree is lit for the first time and songs are sung.
