Heidi, a Girl of the Alps stamps from Japan

The Japanese post office has issued a stamp sheet within a traditional theme "Anime Heroes and Heroines". This time the stamps are dedicated to the popular anime "Heidi, a Girl of the Alps".

"Heidi, a Girl of the Alps" was animated in Japan for the first time in 1974. It is an exciting story about a little girl Heidi living in the nature of the Swiss Alps, being friend with people and animals surrounding her. With beautiful background and strong composition, this anime story lively described psychological characters of the personages and became a masterpiece which gained love of adults and children.

The stamps depict Heidi and her friends Yuli, Josef, Ulm, Peter, rabbits and Clara.
