International Year of Forests - stamp from Argentina

The Argentina Post has issued a stamp commemorating the International Year of Forests (IYF). It illustrates a synthesis of a tree and its reflection which presents the logo of IYF.

The icons that make up the foliage and the trunk of this tree represent the diversity which is vital for the provision of goods and services, tangible and intangible.

The position of man points to his role in the care of the forest.

All these elements reinforce the concept that forests are vital to the survival and welfare of people, food and medicine production, preservation of plant and animal species, regulation of water basins and the balance of climate and, in short, the whole environment.
