Royal Mail introduced ten great stamps that feature key moments from the world-famous Arthurian legend. The items show the beloved characters from this story that have captivated people from various countries for a very long time. The original illustrations, created by artist Jaime Jones, depict Arthur, Merlin, Guinevere, Mordred, Lancelot, and others.
In the mythology of old England, there is no era more beautiful than times of King Arthur’s reign and his valiant knights, when amidst gloomy middle ages people became the witnesses of nobility and selfless loyalty to the crown. Arthurian legend is one of the most popular and well-known stories of all time. Though his tale is rooted in the fifth and sixth centuries, it still impresses people with its exciting and event magical events. Nowadays everyone is well-aware of Arthur’s sword in the stone, knights of the round table, and the wizard Merlin. At least 50 films have been produced on this theme, which over centuries has come to symbolize part of British identity.
