New stamp issue of Salvador Post in honor of Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdamez
San Salvador, June 23, 2014. Directorate General of Posts El Salvador conducted a launch of new stamp Issue.
The event was chaired by Minister of Interior and Territorial Development, Mr. Ramon Aristides Valencia; Director General of Posts of El Salvador and others.
The Stamps show objective Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdamez Salvadoran Catholic priest who preached in defense of human rights and was killed when officiating the mass, reported in his Sunday homilies numerous violations of human rights and publicly expressed its solidarity the victims of the political violence of El Salvador, his murder sparked international protest to demand respect for human rights.
Applications for emissions of the stamps aim to celebrate and commemorate efeméridades (important historical celebrations), national and international significance of events, cultural issues, educational, social and others.
