New stamps in honor of Frederic Chopin

Uruguay has launched a philatelic sheetlet in honor of the bicentennial from the birth of Frederic Chopin.

Chopin was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of French-Polish parentage. He was one of the great masters of Romantic music.

Throughout his life the musician composed: seventeen polonaises, fifty seven mazurkas, two Concertos for piano and orchestra, three Piano Sonatas, four Ballades, four Scherzi, twenty six Preludes, fourteen Waltzes, twenty seven studies, twenty Nights, four Impromptus, four rounds, some chamber works, and several different parts: Fantasy, Berceuse, Barcarolle, Variations.
