Romfilatelia introduced into circulation a special stamp issue UNICEF, children’s rights, assuming the honourable mission to support the campaign launched at a global level by this prestigious organization, which includes Romania, entitled Early Moments Matter! Created by George Ursachi the stamp issued by Romfilatelia shows a lovely picture of a child who is being hugged by his mother. The item is designed in blue and white colours that symbolize peace and tranquility.
The Early Moments Matter! campaign draws attention to the first 1,000 days in a child’s life, which are underpinning his/her future development and success in school and, later on, in life, since more than 80% of the brain develops by the age of three.
The early moments of a child’s life matter – and their impact can last a lifetime. Some of these moments may seem not very important for you like a loving smile, a soothing hug, a playful game of peek-a-boo. Other moments are extremely significant tot children`s development: securing the best nutrition, protecting a child from violence or neglect, reading books and playing games that stimulate the mind and imagination. But big or small, these moments can alter the development of a child’s brain and as a result, impact her health, happiness and ability to learn.
