Rusmarka released the “Endangered Species” EUROPA 2021 stamp!

Rusmarka released a special EUROPA 2021 stamp to celebrate the environmental and historical importance of each species, as well as draw attention to the animals that are registered in the Red List of threatened species of the Russian Federation. This great item is the Russian entry to Europa 2021 philatelic competition, for which this year's theme is 'Endangered National Species'.

The stamps feature the Persian leopard. This species is listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation and is considered as one of the most endangered animals. Leopard hunting has been banned since 1957. The total population in the world does not exceed 1,000 individuals. It is the largest subspecies of leopards, with body length between 126 and 171 cm, or even 183 cm, and tail length from 94 to 116 cm. The male's weight is about 70 kg, but a large individual may have more than 90 kg, whereas females usually weigh 40—50 kg. The pattern formed by the spots on the body is unique for each representative.
