SADC commemorative stamp released in Luanda

A stamp to commemorate the XXXI anniversary of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) was launched on Thursday in Luanda by the Angolan post office in a ceremony attended by the ministers of the 15 delegations present in the Summit of Heads of State and Government running at Talatona Convention Centre.

Speaking to press, the Angolan deputy minister for Telecommunications, Aristides Safeca said that the stamps will circulate in the region and out through trade agents.

He said that the stamps also will divulgate the organization of the summit in Luanda to the international philatelists besides being a vehicle of communication and culture between peoples.

The Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) exists since 1992 when was decided to transform the SADCC (Coordinating Conference for Southern Africa) established in 1980 so the 31 years of the organization refer to the foundation of the former SADCC.
