Small and large animals – four stamps released by Poland Post

Poland Post introduced a set of four stamps on theme “Small and large animals”. Designed by Andrzej Gosik this magnificent issue shows the animals that live in Warsaw Zoological Garden - a large, green island in the middle of the city, a magical place, full of interesting adventures. The items feature such animals as Chimpanzee, Indian Rhinoceros, Linné's Two-toed Sloth and Rothschild's giraffe. Let’s take a closer look at these beautiful set of stamps and at other stamps devoted to animals.

The first item shows the common chimpanzee, which also known as the robust chimpanzee. It is a species of great ape that is listed on the IUCN Red List as endangered. The second stamp features Indian Rhinoceros, which is also known as the great one-horned rhinoceros and the Asian one-horned rhinoceros. It is a small species of rhinoceros native to parts of India and Nepal. The third item shows Linné's Two-toed Sloth that is a species of sloth from South America. These animals are slow-moving, nocturnal creatures that spend almost their entire life upside down in the trees. The last stamp depicts Rothschild's giraffe. It is one of the most endangered distinct populations of giraffe, with 1669 individuals estimated in the wild in 2016.
