The tenth anniversary of the release of the first instalment of a popular, zombie-killing video game series is being commemorated in Japan with the release of ten new 80 yen stamps.

The Resident Evil series, known as Biohazard in Japan, was developed by Japanese games company Capcom and began in 1996. It has since become so popular that it was even turned into a film in 2002 and spawned a sequel in 2004. A third film is due out in 2007.
