Swiss Post honours ice hockey associations

Swiss Post is marking the centenary of the international and national ice hockey association in 2008 and the Stamps & Philately unit will issue a special stamp. Intricate art from simple materials

Paper and scissors. For about 400 hundred years, these simple tools have been used in Europe to create artistic pictures. Black-and-white depictions of herds going up to mountain pastures are regarded as typically Swiss, and in Switzerland hundreds of artists make silhouettes a lively art form to which Swiss Post is dedicating four special stamps.

Switzerland through the eyes of foreign artists - England

In the series "Switzerland through the eyes of foreign artists", the English artist James Peel has followed the tracks of four British authors whose works reflect their stay in Switzerland. The result is four stamps paying homage to landscapes that served as inspiration for a generation of artists. Swiss Post special stamps set pictures in motion

The Museum of Communication in Berne is celebrating its 100th birthday this year. Swiss Post is commemorating this event by issuing two special stamps. For the first time, these make use of lenticular printing technology. Depending on the angle, the viewer sees different images which appear to move. The Museum for Communication owns the largest collection of Swiss stamps in the world.

Women's football

Block of four mint In the run-up to the 2008 European Football Championship in Switzerland and Austria, Swiss Post is issuing the third of four special stamps, this time on the theme of "Women's football". Stamps to feature camera phone snaps

A new series of stamps featuring photographs taken with camera phones is to be launched in Switzerland. The Swiss postal service say the collection, to be issued in September, will be the first of its kind in the world.
